‘Shobdon Food and Flying Festival’
Shobdon Airfield, Near Leominster, Herefordshire HR6 9NR
Welcome to the website of Herefordshire’s longest-running food event of its kind. Held in a small village in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, we are celebrating our tenth anniversary in 2014. Having outgrown our original showground, in 2013 we joined forces with Herefordshire Aero Club’s annual aviation weekend to form the Shobdon Food & Flying Festival which now takes place at the village’s historic airfield, originally built to train glider pilots in WW2. We think the combination of the best food and drink around, cooking demonstrations, bespoke arts and crafts, family entertainment and live music with an array of amazing aerial attractions and displays really does makes our event unique.
In 2014, the Shobdon Food & Flying Festival is sponsored by Bestparks Country Holiday Parks whose Pearl Lake Park is just half a mile from our showground. We are very grateful for their help and support! Learn more about them here.
Run by a small team of volunteers, the Food Festival was set up to support local farmers and producers while raising money for good causes. It has grown into one of the region’s best-loved culinary events boasting around a hundred of the region’s finest food, drink and craft exhibitors. We pride ourselves on creating a relaxed family atmosphere within which our visitors and volunteers can enjoy the very best Herefordshire has to offer. All profits from the weekend are split equally between the Herefordshire Aero Club and the Shobdon Food Festival with all of the Food Festival’s share donated to charities and good causes.
